LDC IV Monitor is an independent global partnership for monitoring the outcome of the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (UN LDC IV). LDC IV Monitor is undertaking policy research, organising dialogues and carrying out outreach activities related to delivery of the Istanbul Programme of Action (IPoA) adopted during the UN LDC IV Conference held in May 2011. These activities are expected to complement the official follow-up and review mechanism of the IPoA. The Secretary-General of the United Nations has mentioned LDC IV Monitor in his first annual report to the General Assembly on implementation of the IPoA.

The partner institutions that constitute the core of the LDC IV Monitor network include:

The partnership intends to bring out its first biennial report in 2013, on the state of implementation of the IPoA. The Dhaka EGM is being convened to discuss the framework and the draft content of the envisaged report. At various working sessions of the EGM, about 35 experts drawn from the core partners and other institutions will participate in the EGM and will be discussing the relevant issues. These include: LDCs and global economic situation; benchmarking of IPoA; graduation and smooth transition for LDCs; building productive capacity in the areas of infrastructure and enterprise development; human and social development; trade and related issues; adding value to agricultural commodities; climate change and vulnerabilities; and strategies for raising development finance.

In organising this event CPD has received support from UNDP Bangladesh, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), Think Tank Initiative (TTI), Commonwealth Secretariat and the Embassy of France in Bangladesh.
